Do you use telegram as an messenger? Would you like to write diary-entries directly from within telegram? Telegram has an very good api, with which this task should be very easy.

Older data

Did you use any other (online-)diary before? Maybe Limetr.ee or ohlife? Or did you fill a word-file with your memories? Sometimes I get an email, asking how to insert older entries from other platforms into maildiary. If there is any structure given, a small script can help. Maybe you have this problem and have many old memories you like to insert here. Please write me an email, so I can help you keep your memories together.

maildiary-app

Another request I received is an maildiary-app to read and write entries while one the run. To write an entry I like to use emails, because it's very convenient to take a picture and write some lines and send it via email. But to read my entries an app would be nice. Do you agree? Would you like to have an app or is this nothing you need?

When is your prefered time to write an entry?

Autosave in diary-form

One feature some of you requested is an auto-saving while writing a diary-entry to prevent data-loss. I work on this feature but need some time to test and implement it. I wonder how many of you would like to have this feature?

Values

Create some values you want to take track of every day. Maybe your weight or if it's a diary for your child, it's size. You find it if you click on your name in the upper right. For every value you add you get an entry-line in your diary-form.

Reply-mail and date-issue

Some of you demanded that if you reply to an email which you received one or more days ago, you want your diary-entry be for the day you received the reminder mail, not for the current day when you send your text. This is now the default behavior. If you take an old mail from 10 days before and reply, your diary entry will be inserted for that day. You can change this, like I did, in your advanced settings, because I think it's more like a real diary if I make an entry for yesterday but with my thoughts of today in mind it's ok to set the current date. But that's just my opinion. Hope you like it.

Add tags to your entries

you can now add tags inside your entry-text. Just set a hashtag in front of any word you want to mark as a tag. You can do this within the form or within your emails. If you edit the entry you will see the hashtags. If you view your monthlist or entries per day every hashed word will be linked to the overview-site and starts a search for your tag with all your entries.

List of all entries

Since the new timeline is online some of you recognized, that there are some entries dated to 0000-00-00, which might be an import-leftover. Now you have a new view to list all entries in a long list, only with the date and subject. You can click on the date to view the entry or you can click on the pencil to edit the entry and maybe correct the date. To not make the navigation-bar to full I moved the import/export-link into your personal sub-navigation.

I thought a timeline could be helpful

Do you agree? Sometimes I want to find a special date and it's hard to find. The timeline at the left helps me find it faster. What do you think? What else would you need to make your diary more useful?

startet a new mail-template

Some of you have noted that the daily emails are not very nice. So it took some time, but today I started the new design for the daily mails. Please comment if you like them. If not you can switch back in your advanced settings.
